Roland is a chunky little kitten, some might say chubby - his nickname is "Roly-Poly" because of this. He is a very handsome orange and white tabby, with very soft fluffy (but short) fur.

Roland was a bit of a cry baby when he was younger. He was fussy and did not like to be touched much, especially on his feet. We have been working with him and are happy to be able to say that he is getting much more relaxed. He still does not like to sit on the lap - what he wants is to curl up by (actually on) your feet or to snuggle up next to you on a chair.

We have found that Roland likes attention but does not want to have to compete with the crowd of other kittens in the foster home. He will wait until they are all off playing and then come rub against your leg so that you will notice him and give him a little rub. When he is really relaxed, he will roll onto his back so that you can rub his belly.

Roland will probably do best in a home without very small children since he does not like to be chased around. He needs a family that understands his personality and will be happy to love him on his terms. If this sounds like your family, please come meet Roland at one of our adoption events.


Note to file: Roland was born in the foster home, the last-born kitten in a litter of 3 kittens. He also has 2 younger "step-brother" kittens in his group. He is the kitten in the front in the photo with his brother, and he is the one on the right in the basket of kittens.
