Miss Gem has a beautiful golden-brown coat. She is a "ticked" tabby. This means that each individual hair is striped and her back and sides have an appearance like twead instead of having obvious stripes. Of course, the traditional tabby stripes are seen on her legs and tail.

Miss Gem is a feisty little girl kitten.  She is very independent but she still wants lots of attention. Not a lap cat, she would prefer to snuggle up by your side when you sit or lie down, and very affectionate when she gets her own way.

Miss Gem was one of ten kittens in a mixed litter rescued from a subdivision. She was very tiny at the time and had to be bottle fed by one of our specialty foster homes. Now she is a very healthy young kitten and ready for a forever home.


Note to File : Miss Gem was adopted on June 10th but the family returned her on July 8th because they decided they did not want a pet. Understandably, Miss Gem was a bit upset about all the moving around - and also I think she knew she had been rejected. It took a little time to get her over this disappointment and used to being around all the other kittens again. But now she is back to her previous loving self.
