Danae nka Sophie
Danae is doing well In her new home in Daytona Beach. Her new name is Sophie. She was a little quiet the first two days but is talkative now and enjoys exploring every inch of her home. On the third night she claimed a place on her new mom's bed and hasn't left. She is the only cat and enjoys being the center of attentiion. We are all very glad that she isn't in the Dunkin Donuts bushes or the parking lot any longer. She went from lonely to loved!
Artemis2 nka Ivey
Her new family reports that they love Artemis! They renamed her Ivey, after a special place in the Everglades. She is set up in their den for a slow introduction to the house and other cats. Her family knows it is important to make her feel secure and she can venture out when she is ready. Update: Here is Ivey (Artemis 2) with her stocking and toy from Santa. She has adjusted quickly.
Her best cat friend is 1 1/2 year
old Java, an orphan her family rescued and bottle fed last year. Java is thrilled to have a
fun kitten to play with. They are tight. But best of all, Ivey loves people, and
always sticks close by to get involved. She is as cute as cute gets..
Update March 2010: Now 7 months old, Ivey's allowed to watch birds and squirrels on the screened porch. As you can see, she loves it. Isn't she beautiful?!!! Ivey's family thinks she is one of the BEST
cats ever because she is fiesty, active, lovable - and super social to people and the other cats in her home.
Meridith
Meridith is a very beautiful, bright tortoiseshell (a kind of calico) cat, with short thick fur and golden green eyes. She is very sweet and playful, loves running around to play chase with other kittens, and pouncing on toy mice.
Meridith was born in a shed where a feral cat had hidden to give birth to her babies. This is not a good location for baby kittens and Meredith had a severe upper respiratory infection (URI) when we rescued her. In fact, all the other kittens in her litter were so sick that Meridith is the only one who lived. She was a little fighter and was determined to survive ... but she ended up with permanent scarring on her eyes.
Enter her new family! They were looking for a loving cat to be a companion to their cat Simon who was previously adopted through our program. And they were willing to accept Meredith with slightly imperfect eyes. A match made in heaven. As you can see from this photo and the ones on Meridith's homepage (click on her name), the two kitties are now great friends ... and they even let the family dog join in the fun.
Wambley nka Ellie
Ellie used to be called Wambley when she was a kitten. Now that she has a fur-ever home, she has a new name to go along with it. Her new name, Ellie, is as beautiful and elegant as she is.
Ellie sent us this recent photo taken with her new best friend, Panther. They love each other are are very happy to lay around after a hard day of play.
